Cadmore Media was founded in 2018 by scholarly and video publishing veterans who saw a need to make video publishing an accessible proposition for a wide range of academic and professional use cases. Essentially, we want to transform the creation and dissemination of video and audio content in the scholarly world through expert technology, robust partnerships, and best-in-class service.
To do this, we hire great people, build client-driven products, and facilitate industry-wide innovation. We were awarded the Digital Science Catalyst Grant in 2018 and the NFAIS Digital Startup Challenge in 2019. In 2020 we released our virtual event platform, now a core element of our services. Today, we employ 15 people across the US and UK, serve leading academic and professional associations and societies, and are making strides toward bringing video into the wider publishing ecosystem.
Eden graduated in 2017 from Aston University, where she studied economics and management and decided to pursue a career in accounting. She spent four years in the fast-moving consumer goods sector before moving to media, and is studying to become a Chartered Certified Accountant. In her free time, Eden likes to sing, play piano, travel, and read books.
Victoria is an award-winning senior digital designer with 12 years of experience. She has cross-industry experience, including advertising, travel, hospitality, and not-for-profit. She specializes in web accessibility, user interface, and user experience design, creating experiences that look great and are easy to use. During her spare time, Victoria enjoys travelling, cinema, and overindulging in great food.
Neil is a career software engineer and solutions architect by day, with over 20 years of experience and a Masters of Information Systems. By night, he is also a karate instructor, board game creator, entrepreneur, and volunteer. Prior to cofounding Cadmore, he held technology roles in publishing, behavioral health, education, government contracting, professional development, and conference management industries.
Deborah is an experienced project manager with a proven ability to strategize and implement complex multi-system technical initiatives. She has particular expertise in working with cross-functional teams and external vendors on multi-part projects. Her extensive background in software/web development, business process implementation, and change management has benefited organizations in nonprofit, government, and educational sectors. During her spare time Deborah enjoys tennis, running, movies and playing piano.
Greg is a business analyst and project manager with over 20 years of experience in publishing, most recently with SAGE Publishing. He has worked on a wide variety of online products specializing in video, courseware, integrations, access control, and reporting. Prior to SAGE, Greg worked for Cenveo/Cadmus Publisher Services in various roles within technology and production. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his dog, and cooking — preferably outdoors.
Violaine’s experience spans fifteen years in professional, scholarly, and trade publishing, including stints at technology provider GVPi, SAGE Publishing, Random House, and Flammarion. She has led the development of digital publishing platforms and co-founded Cadmore Media to spur the growth of streaming media in scholarly and professional communication.
Simon has worked with a number of start-ups in the scholarly information space for over twenty years (including CatchWord, Renew Consultants, and Accucoms) and in a consultancy and service provider role has nearly thirty years’ experience in meeting the needs of the world’s scholarly societies, both large and small, in North America, Europe, and Japan.
Jessica leads Cadmore’s marketing efforts, bringing to bear her 15+ years experience in scholarly publishing, including books, journals, databases, magazines, and video. Most recently she managed international and library sales for MIT Press, and was head of marketing at Alexander Street. She reads constantly and loves travelling, live music, art, eating, and sometimes, cooking.
Rachael is a senior software engineer with over 20 years of experience. She has worked in multiple industries, from medical to legal to non-profit to publishing, where she has spent the last 10 years. The bulk of her experience has been with the Microsoft stack. When not coding, she likes to explore her creative side as the host of multiple shows and podcasts interviewing a cappella groups for an Internet-based, a cappella-only radio station called Acaville.
Melissa is a digital product professional with over 10 years of experience. As Chief Product Officer at Cadmore, Melissa leads our product strategy and product management functions. She spent many years at SAGE Publishing in various project and product manager roles working on video, data, and courseware products. Melissa is currently working on her Master’s in Educational Technology at James Madison University. Outside of work and school, Melissa spends her time baking and reading.
Stephen has worked in academic publishing sales and management for twenty years. He’s had significant roles at SAGE Publishing/CQ Press, the American Psychological Association, and John Wiley and Sons, Inc. At SAGE, Stephen was the sales liaison for new product development and consulted on video and academic courseware products. Stephen is associate faculty at Santa Monica College, where he teaches an online Business Communication course. As Director of Sales at Cadmore Media, Stephen drives all sales initiatives for the organization. He has a passion for books, documentary film, theater, and music.
Christopher has 11 years of experience as a software engineer, creating applications for clients across a wide span of sectors; retail, construction, insurance, and fitness. He spent his early years studying a range of subjects from; ICT, media studies, and graphical design to art and theatre studies. During his spare time he likes to listen to music, read comics and build models.
Jennifer is a new graduate of George Washington University’s Masters in Publishing program. She has six years of experience coordinating projects in multiple fields, including publishing, education, non-profit, and medical billing. Bridging the gap between content and consumer through meaningful client relationships is her specialty. During her spare time, Jennifer can be found reading, writing, and nurturing her houseplants.
In John’s 15+ years of experience in software development, he has worked as a developer, consultant, and solutions architect for a variety of industries, including finance, defense, and pharmaceutical research. When not problem-solving, he is a jack-of-all-trades and is interested in everything from history, electronics, video games, comics, and even a bit of DIY.
Cadmore Media is a fast-growing publishing technology start-up with a team of knowledgeable, supportive professionals.
