Cadmore Media Expands Video Platform; Offers Complete Virtual Event Solution

BETHESDSA, USA and OXFORD, UK, March 4, 2021:

Cadmore Media, the first streaming platform for scholarly communications, has launched a virtual meeting platform to meet the specialized needs of content-rich scientific and technical meetings and events. This end-to end workflow and delivery solution is completely brandable and customized to meet individual organizations’ needs. Event organizers will find everything they need to run a successful virtual or hybrid event, selecting from a menu of options: Hosting and streaming, technical support and training, digital asset management, synchronous transcripts and translations, an interactive program and schedule, live sessions, live screenings and on demand playback, chat, attendee profiles, exhibitor and sponsor profile pages, access and authentication, analytics, security, and accessibility support.

“Our clients had to pivot to online events rapidly in 2020 and asked if we could help,” said Cadmore CEO and co-founder Violaine Iglesias. “Seeing the need, we started developing a suite of tools customized for each client. Since then, we’ve built out the platform and workflows and I’m so pleased to be able to offer this service to others.”

In keeping with the core Cadmore values, every element of the platform is designed to enhance accessibility and inclusivity and to engage a global audience. Cadmore’s strength in video on demand means that once the event concludes, organizers will have a high-quality, branded product that is discoverable, searchable, and ready to monetize.

Iglesias acknowledged there are a lot of event platforms out there. What sets Cadmore apart? “We specialize in content-rich scientific conference and technical programs that require managing a lot of content and challenging workflows. We prioritize making it easy to access the content for attendees and easy to manage for the organizers. , Mainstream platforms generally aren’t–and don’t need to be–good at these things. Of course, we haven’t forgotten about the other main reason people attend conferences, i.e., networking.”

Networking and engagement opportunities are incorporated throughout the event platform, and a wide variety of additional tools and apps are available via the Cadmore API. This allows event organizers to use the software they already rely on, such as membership and abstract management, while adding the best new services. Integration options include: Abstract management, event tech, scheduling software, networking apps, e-commerce, membership databases, authentication, webinar, live streaming, publishing platforms, and discovery services.

Carmela Brittingham, Director of Event Product Management at AIAA and a recent Cadmore client noted that “Cadmore worked with us extensively before the event to think through its architecture and apply best practices. Once the event was underway, the support staff was lightening quick in responding to queries, and overall we had great feedback from attendees.”

Recent virtual events hosted by Cadmore include the 2020 AIAA Propulsion and Energy Forum, 2020 AIAA/IEEE Electric Aircraft Technologies Symposium, 2020 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2020 Congress of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, 2021 AIAA SciTech Forum, and this week, the 2021 NISO Plus Conference.

As the global pandemic continues into 2021, event organizers are mostly keeping meetings virtual in the first six months of the year, with some optimism for adding a hybrid element toward the end of the year. Yet even as in-person events return, the benefits of reaching audiences via virtual events will remain. As Iglesias notes, “Virtual events are not going anywhere.”
